Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year… well it is for everyone except the miserable miserly Scrooge. As the meanest, most greedy and cold-hearted man in London, he has no time for friends or fun, celebrating Christmas with misery and meanness rather than mistletoe and merriment. Bah, humbug!

But one dark, cold Christmas Eve, Scrooge is paid a surprise visit by the ghost of Marley, his former business partner. Marley tells Scrooge that he will be called upon by three spirits, each of whom will take him on a mysterious and magical journey to reveal the error of his ways. But can Scrooge really change in time for Christmas Day, and discover the true wonder and meaning of Christmas?

Adapted especially for the Octagon by Neil Duffield - winner of the Arts Council of England Children's Award, 2006 - this fabulous new version of the timeless Victorian tale stays faithful to Charles Dickens’ masterpiece. You will be enthralled by the amazing cast of characters brought to life on the Octagon stage before your very eyes… meet Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and (of course) Ebenezer Scrooge. The show is full of spooky happenings and theatrical magic with music and songs that epitomise the atmosphere and wonder of this season.

Information for Schools / Group Bookings:
Children’s buffets, interval drinks and ices are available and can be pre-ordered to make your visit run smoothly. Sweets also on sale pre-show and during the interval. We request patrons do not bring their own refreshments.
