Resources for Teachers

Why is Dream Right for your School?

For many years the Octagon has offered high quality, accessible theatre which is perfect for schools. Now we are making a further commitment to not just present entertaining, thought-provoking productions, but to create something that will inspire pupils’ studies and invigorate the classroom.

The experience of seeing live theatre has been proven to effect the understanding of the text in a number of crucial departments:

  • character and action
  • the effects of dramatic devices or structures
  • layers of meaning in language, ideas and themes
  • social and historical setting or cultural context or literary tradition

Events include:

  • Teachers' Inset Session
  • Dream Workshop
  • Dream Playday
  • Meet the Director and Cast
