Happy & Married? the first in a trilogy of newly commissioned devised shows for the company to be shown at the Octagon Theatre.

Come and experience the world of Marion and Ron, a hapless couple who, trapped by the dark and an onslaught of wild squirrels, are forced to face their darkest moments together. Have the years finally taken their toll or will they remember the love that first brought them together?

Within a heightened world of lusciousness, displacements, half-truths, emotional blackmail and Mother in laws, our married couple are two halves of a whole. Under the surface of this destructive relationship their lives are underpinned by an unspoken and unrelenting love for one another.

Happy & Married? is a dark comedy focusing on the antics of Ron and Marion as their past comes crashing into their present uninvited.

Devised, written, and directed by South Bank Show Awards Winner Madani Younis, Happy & Married? puts modern day marriages under the microscope and seeks to understand what becomes of us after we utter those two immortal words “I do’.
