performing,
we want to hear from you!
activ8 is the participatory department of the Octagon
Theatre, Bolton, and is recognised as one of the leading
departments of its kind in the UK. activ8’s work
is recognised as a mark of excellence throughout Bolton,
Greater Manchester and the North West, and the department
is always in great demand.
Through a range of projects, some of which operate within
the Octagon Theatre and some within schools and community
venues in Bolton, activ8 provides a stimulating, challenging,
culturally relevant educational resource for people
of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, activ8 runs
a very popular and highly acclaimed youth theatre for
young people from across the district, who perform regularly
on the Octagon stage.

VOLUNTEER
SCHEME
We are keen to offer experience to people who have
a strong interest in theatre or are looking to work
with young people or in the community as a future
career. Voluntary placements are available in the
Youth Theatre, Education and Community Projects. We
ask that volunteers are over 18 and prepared to commit
to spending a minimum of six months with us.
Workshop
leader training scheme
In addition
to our volunteer scheme activ8 also offer a new exciting
training opportunity; Our workshop leader training
contists of a year long programme that can be accessed
as part of our volunteer scheme with a view to learning
drama facilitation skills through practical and theoretical
traning with a view to eventually becoming a drama
workshop leader. This is a flexible and fun way to
gain new skills and explore a new career.
