ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER - Fixed Term
We are looking for an Assistant Stage Manager to work as part of our production team in a busy backstage environment.
The successful applicant will be a versatile professional who is willing to work as part of a small production team to achieve the creation and smooth running of Octagon Theatre productions. Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are essential. The successful applicant will have particular experience of sourcing props and running a backstage area and the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that is growing year by year and is looking forward to an exciting period with the approach of our 50th Anniversary season and in 2019 completing a £10m capital project that will transform the building.

PARTICIPANT RECRUITMENT UPDATE
The Octagon Theatre Bolton is looking for male volunteer performers between the ages of 16 – 41 to take part in an exciting, UK wide, theatre project for Summer 2016, working with partners in England, Scotland and Wales.
We are looking to recruit individuals who are dedicated and enthusiastic about taking part in a one-off, large-scale event, which will be directed by an award-winning team. Alongside hundreds of other people, you will be taking part in a performance that will mark a moment in national history.
To take part, you must be available on all of the following dates:
Sunday 22 May (all day)
Sunday 5 June (all day)
Thursday 9June (Evening)
Sunday 19 June (all day)
Sunday 26 June (all day)
Friday 1 July (all day)
Sessions will take place in either Bolton, Wigan or Manchester City Centre.
Due to the nature of the performance, all participants will require a good level of physical fitness. The roles will require no previous acting experience, however you will need to be comfortable performing in a public space. There are also opportunities for volunteer project assistants and runners if you have more time to dedicate to this unique project.

- If you would like to register your interest in volunteering for the project as a project assistant or runner or stage manager please book a place on the volunteer information session on Wednesday 1st June from 6 – 8pm. Please note that there are no gender or age restrictions for volunteer positions.
