About Us
The Octagon Theatre Bolton is one of the North West’s most intimate and exciting theatres and has been producing nationally renowned work for more than forty years.
The Octagon recently entered a new era under the Artistic Direction of Olivier Award-winner David Thacker, with a programme that includes timeless drama, hilarious comedy, epic musicals and a hugely successful festive family show.
Alongside classic plays, the Octagon has a fine pedigree for presenting world premieres by playwrights such as Jim Cartwright, Alan Plater and Tanika Gupta. And the ground-breaking, intimate, flexible auditorium means the plays can take place on thrust or end on stages, as well as in the round.
The Octagon Theatre Bolton is truly a theatre for theatre-lovers.
