The theatre has a department dedicated to providing opportunities for people to get involved with our work. activ8 is the Octagon Theatre's Leanring and Participation team. They work with young people, schools and community groups to deliver projects which ensure that as many people as possible are able to participate in and use the theatre. Their work is divided into three areas: Education projects; Community participation programmes (including our project for over 50s); and the continued development of our Youth Theatres.

They offer opportunities within our communities for individuals to discover their potential, develop their personal, social and creative skills, use these skills to enrich their lives and contribute to their communities, and celebrate their achievements.
